Food Bank Donation Drive-Thru
We've seen panic buying sweep the nation. Unfortunately it leaves the most vulnerable in our community behind who may not be able to shop on a regular basis. When they do shop, they need the essentials to be available. With bare shelves becoming a sad reality, our most vulnerable community members are heading home without the items they need.
Last month Food Bank distributed 464, 000 meals to their charity partners across the state. This is a 16% increase on the year prior.
When the supermarket shelves are bare, so are those at Food Bank. The warehouses at Food Bank are struggling to meet the increasing demand. Essential supplies are at an all time low.
Food bank are holding a Donation Drive-Thru this coming weekend due to the overwhelming community support they have received. Now more than ever, we need to come together to support the most vulnerable members of our community. This Saturday the 28th of March between 10am and 2pm Food Bank are providing an opportunity for people to donate non-perishable food to help those in need. So far they have already raised 20,839 meals.
