Matt Lambie has had over 20 years’ experience in the tech industry. He is the group Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Singaporean company Funding Societies and is currently the CTO at The Difference. Matt helps bring the app to life.
Subha Naidu has worked in both the creative and tech industries. Subha currently works for tech company, Tapology.
Matt shared his thoughts around technology as an enabler, unlocking and amplifying human potential rather than simply being a creator.
Mobile tech is a way we can close gaps within our society. With the availability of mobile devices rapidly increasing, the potential impact of mobile applications is also growing. Mobile applications can create greater access around things such as banking along with the opportunity to engage in charitable giving like never before through applications such as The Difference. These changes in opportunity will help shape our society and shape the potential impact we can make within it.
Subha discussed the immense changes simple mobile applications can make in people’s lives. The potential positive impact available through a people centred approach to tech is tremendous.
Anything that provides us more time or enables us to utilise the time we already dedicate to a particular task better, should be of priority. Optimisation should be the major goal in technological advancement ultimately improving our quality of life.
It is important to understand that with technological advancement and using tech for good, not all development will create immediate social benefit or impact.
The future of tech is exciting, particularly around making positive social changes.
Often underestimated is the power technology can enable and the major potential it can unlock. With future generations growing up with tech and becoming more comfortable with what tech can offer they are more likely to maximise and unlock the full potential of technology.
